Since 2004, the CIDA Egypt Program has invested in the strategic development of the vision, concepts, approach, and tools of the Active Citizenship Engagement for Good Governance Strategy (ACE).  It has been an extensive, participatory effort of consultation, reflection and pilot initiatives by local partners, including youth. 

ACE is CIDA’s statement of its position on strengthening governance in Egypt by supporting the institutional capacities of civil society to expand the civic domain and catalyze active citizenship and good governance in Egypt. It is a call for new roles, opportunities and initiatives in civic action and civic responsibility by a strengthened civil society seeking citizens’ voice and empowerment.

The Strategy aims to mobilize the talents, energies and resources of citizens to advance active citizenship and good governance through three entry points.
