ACE Through the Eyes of Youth

During the pilot implementation phase of the Ace Strategy and in an effort to reach a shared understanding by all its users, the idea of engaging the youth in simplifying the Strategy’s concepts and components was initiated by CEOSS as one of the coaching approaches to ACE. Consequently, a workshop was organized in Minia in February 2009 engaging youth participants from local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

Following a coaching session by the ACE Team, 2 youth groups, those are  Jasmart Team and Oyoon Art Group, were commissioned to use art, as a medium that appeals to young people, to facilitate understanding of the Strategy and self-expression of its different concepts such as Active Citizenship, Civic Values, Civic Domain, Fostering and Building Trust, and Facilitated Citizens’ Access to Information.

The followingillustrations are a sample of the young participants’ work.
