Developing the Political Participation for Women in Qena
The main objective of the project is to encourage the political participation of women in Qena Governorate. The geographical focus of the project will cover the center of Qena in addition to five different villages within close range to the center. Specific activities include conducting 80 awareness sessions including 2,400 participants to raise their awareness on the importance of effective participation in decision-making. The organization will also help issue 1120 voting cards for these women. Another activity entails enabling 10 women to become electorates in the Shura Council and National Assembly. Part of the fund will also be used to arrange monthly meetings with community leaders. They will be responsible for expanding the outreach of the program as well as identifying other challenges prohibiting women from participating in politics.
