Part 1: Why Gender Equality is Important in CIDA’s Egypt Program

Part 1 presents the rationale put forth globally, regionally and locally for investing time and resources to reduce gender inequality. This rationale is based on commitments shared by both Egypt and Canada, on evidence of the impact of gender equality on development and poverty reduction, and on support for human rights and social justice.

Part 3 provides a synthesis of the results of a consultative process undertaken by CIDA to take stock of its own experience in promoting gender equality in its work in Egypt as well as the lessons learned by others (Government of Egypt, Civil Society, other international development organizations).

 Part 4: Gender Equality for CIDA’s Egypt Program

Part 4 embodies CIDA’s strategy for its work related to gender equality in Egypt; providing a description of the gender equality vision within the Egypt program; the identification of the gender equality goal and expected results; and a description of the structure and process by which the strategy will be implemented.
