What's New

Launched in 2004, the Gender Equality Strategy for the CIDA/Egypt Program provides overarching guidance for CIDA project and non-project investments and aims to “to contribute to poverty reduction in Egypt in accordance with Egypt’s and Canada’s shared commitments and experience in gender equality and human rights”. Thanks to the GE Strategy, the CIDA/Egypt Program is currently more coherent in addressing diverse gender issues related to CIDA’s programming areas.

The final implementation phase of the first Egypt Program Gender Equality (GE) Strategy cycle was to conduct a Mid-term Performance Review to assess the integration of the cross-cutting Gender Equality theme at the program and project levels after almost 6 years of execution. Based on the results of the study the existing GE strategy will be reviewed and updated to be of relevance to Private Sector Development (PSD) and therefore start a new implementation cycle.
