Professional Training for Youth in El Marg
The project’s goal is to improve the economic and social situation of 40 marginalized youths from El Marg slum area in Greater Cairo. The project will deliver results based on three pillars of intervention: the professional training, skills development and capacity building; Entrepreneurship knowledge training through specialized trainings on establishing and managing small projects and micro enterprises; micro credit program for small projects start-up.
Accordingly, the project’s specific objectives are:
1. To train 40 youths from El Marg slum area on specific professions according to their needs and the community needs.
2. To provide 40 youths from El Marg slum area with entrepreneurship and business development skills for establishing and managing small projects.
3. To provide 30 youths from El Marg slum area with regular income either through the employment or the establishment of a small private project.
4. To establish a Professional Integration Unit (PIU) to create a linkage between unemployed youth and business sector. The PIU will contribute to the project sustainability by serving as an employment and job matching center for unemployed youths in El Marg.
5. EACD will also be continuously providing financial and non-financial services for young entrepreneurs as well as access to training opportunities for youth interested in skills development and vocational training.
