   Canadian International Development Agency/Egypt Program
The goal of CIDA’s bilateral program is to support Egypt in its efforts to reduce poverty of the country’s marginalized groups, in particular women and children/youth. To achieve this goal, Canadian assistance is primarily directed to:
 

• Assist Egypt to achieve the Millennium Development Goal of access to good quality basic
  education
• Small and Medium Enterprise Development to foster better employment   opportunities.

Gender equality, environmental sustainability, institutional capacity building and child protection are integral, crosscutting components in the program.

Egypt Program Support Unit
Egypt Program Support Unit was established in 1992 as a bilateral project. It is managed by Environmental Quality International (EQI) a local executing agency. The goal of the PSU is to provide support in developing and managing the Canadian Cooperation Program in Egypt in order to maximize developmental results and impact. The PSU supports CIDA and executing agencies in planning and monitoring the Cooperation Program by carrying out specific activities relating to program planning and delivery, as well administrative and logistical support. It also supports the country by providing expertise in response to government priorities.
