 Project Overview

This project is helping the Egyptian Government to develop an effective and coordinated national system for sustainable water resources management. It provides equipment, technical assistance, training and capacity development, etc. in the following areas of water resources management:
1. Establishing and maintaining a National Water Quality Monitoring Network and information system as a basis for informed decision making;
2. Developing the skills, links and techniques of the emerging cadre of professionals responsible for planning water resources in Egypt;
3. Examining the practicality of the reuse of drainage water with a view to increasing water availability;
4. Sharing water quality and management data and information among different government organizations to assist MWRI in formulating long-term water management policies.
